Day-by-Day Itinerary

Estimated schedule for our 8-day expedition across the Continental Ice Field.

Day 1 – Reception & Briefing

The program begins with a meeting to explain the details of the trip and review personal equipment. This is where you will meet your guide and obtain valuable information about the adventure that is about to begin.

Day 2 – Transfer to Río Eléctrico & Start of Trekking

After a transfer, we begin trekking towards Laguna de los 14, located at the foot of the Gorra Blanca Glacier. The route crosses a lenga forest and rocky terrain around Lake Eléctrico, featuring two river crossings.

Day 3 – Trekking to Paso Marconi

This is the key day of the trip. A day with good weather is required to reach Paso Marconi at 1,550 meters above sea level. Weather permitting, we will enjoy views of the Fitz Roy, Piergiorgio, and Gorra Blanca peaks.

Day 4 – Hike to Circo de los Altares

After an intense day, we take a more relaxed hike to Circo de los Altares, with the possibility of approaching the west face of Cerro Torre. The sunset view is highly enjoyable.

Day 5 – Hike to Laguna Ferrari

We continue our journey south, leaving the glacier and hiking along moraines and rocky terrain. Our destination is Laguna Ferrari or the Paso del Viento refuge.

Day 6 – Hike to Laguna Toro

We descend through the Túnel Valley until we reach Laguna Toro, with views of the Mariano Moreno Range and Viedma Glacier. The terrain is rocky and includes a river crossing via zip line.

Day 7 – Return to El Chaltén

The trip concludes with a hike back to El Chaltén, traversing beautiful lenga forests.

Day 8 – Weather Backup or Rest Day

A buffer day to relax or to use in case weather conditions do not allow us to continue with the schedule.
