Feel the immensity beneath your feet | A day of pure mountain

A unique traverse between two legendary mountain refuges of Bariloche, where ice, wind, and silence bring back that feeling of being truly alive.

Close your eyes and listen to the crunching of the ice. The cold air hits your face, but your heart beats strong: you are crossing a glacier, walking among blue crevasses that seem to breathe. No city noise, no screens, no rush. Only the sound of your steps on an ancient world.

You had been looking for something like this for a long time: an experience that is not just scenery, but a real test of presence. Because it is not about arriving first, but about feeling each step. Returning to the essential, to that moment when body and mountain understand each other without words.

This is for you if...

  • You are looking for something beyond classic circuits, an experience with a purpose.
  • You want to feel challenge and personal growth in a technical and safe environment.
  • You love the mountains with respect, and value authenticity over mass tourism.
  • You want to reconnect with yourself, far from the noise of routine.
  • You enjoy learning new techniques and being part of a group with the same passion.

Traverse Itinerary

An unforgettable journey connecting the most emblematic mountain refuges.

Crossing Day – Otto Meiling to Rocca

Elevation: +100 m / -500 m Distance: 4 km Format: Glacier Trekking

The day begins early at the Otto Meiling Refuge, with the sunrise painting the slopes of Mount Tronador in gold. After checking the technical gear and a safety briefing, we will start along a rocky path leading to the edge of the glacier. The air grows colder, and in front of you, a tongue of ice stretches to the horizon.

With crampons fitted and rope in hand, you take your first steps onto the Alerce Glacier. Every crunch under your boots reminds you that you are walking on centuries of natural history. The guide sets the pace, securing every step. Between blue crevasses and wind-sculpted ice formations, you feel the perfect blend of adrenaline, calm, and wonder.

After leaving the glacier, the path continues toward the Agostino Rocca Refuge. The forest reappears, the air grows warmer, and a panoramic view of the valleys bids you farewell. You arrive with a tired body and a full soul. A hot cup, the sunset, and the certainty of having lived something authentic.

Logistics Note: The Alerce Glacier crossing takes half a day, although the complete traverse takes about 3 days in total. The guides accompany you specifically during Day 2 of the crossing. You must reach the Otto Meiling Refuge by your own means and descend alone from the Rocca Refuge.
